Vizient is a healthcare performance improvement company that delivers clinical, operational and supply chain performance data to customers to improve the delivery of cost-effective, exceptional patient care. Pivotal and Vizient partnered to build a new analytics tool for ambulatory practices.
As a product consultant, I led a 7-week Discovery and Framing effort to better understand the problem space, and to clearly identify business and user needs. I interviewed 20+ users to determine existing product strengths and areas for improvement before beginning product brainstorming sessions.
During initial development, I worked with subject matter experts to understand patterns in the data that users care about. I created a prototype in Tableau using dummy data to test initial visualizations. Lastly, I met regularly with stakeholders to align the new tool to other products in portfolio, and to highlight risks that might derail progress.

Pivotal Tracker is an agile project management tool that emphasizes short iterations and breaks work into manageable chunks to help teams deliver features faster. Pivotal consultants use Tracker to teach customers agile, lean and XP software methodologies.
In this role, I manage the roadmap and feature development for Pivotal Tracker, working with a designer and five developers to manage support requests, conduct site maintenance, and build new features. I collaborate with stakeholders to determine outcomes and priorities, and with support / marketing to promote new features, writing blog posts and help center articles.
When I joined the team, I led a research effort to understand where we fit in the company’s portfolio of products, and to validate the solution we eventually arrived at. Since then, I have owned and shaped an experimental track of work dubbed ‘MTTP’ (mean time to production). Our objective is to help software teams 1 - more easily identify functionality they’ve delivered to their end users and 2 - better track their delivery cadence.

I have over 5 years of experience working in the software industry, leveraging lean, agile and XP software methodologies. I’ve worked at a startup, with large enterprises, and as a consultant.
Creating a product involves several components including uncovering real problems, understanding user pains, and collaborating. I build great products by delivering value often and quickly, tracking key success metrics, and iterating constantly to refine and improve products.
Outside of work, I love to travel, cook, bake, and workout. You can visit my food blog at boushala.com
